about

Skin’s lost its glow? Majoring in apathy? More than happy with your existing phone plan?

Then the second single from our upcoming debut album has got you covered. “Tuesday’s Papers” takes a lyric dripping with cynicism and droll wit and staple guns it to a riff-and-a-half (think The Saints via Madchester), a danceable beat, a crashing, climactic bridge, and some cowbell, to taste.

“Tuesday’s Papers” is about our subjective projection of what we think we're meant to be and what we’re meant to do, and the ways in which the banal and perfunctory limit us. The weekly grind and managing budgets and bills drag us down, and before we know it, we're back at square one every week, staring at Tuesday's Papers.

“Tuesday’s Papers” is out now on all streaming services.

lyrics

Monday morning has come and gone
Breakfast curdles next to the telephone
I’ve become what I want to be
You can see it there on the tele
You don’t know what you know
Your hands move too slow
Hey don’t touch that ham and cheese I’m saving it for later!
You don’t know what to be
The forest or the trees
I’m majoring in apathy
I’m staring at Tuesday’s Papers
Another year lies up the hill
I can see it tap on the windowsill
Kids are playing out in the street
Coming traffic, no time to retreat
Your skin has lost its glow
Your ducks aren’t in a row
Have you seen my phone charger? I think I left it here a week ago!
I haven’t enough rope
I’m starting A New Hope
I’m hitting a new low
I’m staring at Tuesday’s Papers
I flick the calendar
I see the same old reservations
I close my eyes, I cross the street
How could this be where I’m supposed to be?
The sun sets on a molten sky
A crowd cheers, home just scored a try
All your neighbours look so complete
Rub your knees, how can you compete?
I’m trying not to breathe
I’m wanting to believe
I’m sorry but I’m more than happy with my existing phone plan!
I’m longing to belong
I won’t be here for long
I’m feeling so forlorn
I’m staring at Tuesday’s Papers.
